Initial & Annual Commercial Diving Medicals
OEUK Medicals

OEUK Medicals (formerly known as OGUK Medicals) are health assessments required for individuals working offshore in the UK oil and gas industry. Mandated by Offshore Energies UK (OEUK), these medicals are designed to ensure that workers are medically fit to work in potentially hazardous offshore environments, including oil platforms and rigs.
OEUK medicals are also used widely within the renewable energies industries, both onshore and offshore. The medicals assess an individual’s physical and mental fitness to undertake offshore duties safely and effectively, in line with the stringent health and safety standards of the sector.
What can you expect at the Medical?
A standard OEUK medical typically includes a review of the worker’s medical history, height and weight measurement, blood pressure check, vision and hearing tests, lung function assessment, and urine analysis.
Depending on job requirements, additional assessments such as drug and alcohol screening or fitness to wear breathing apparatus may be included. Upon passing the medical, the individual receives a certificate valid for up to two years, allowing them to work offshore in the UK sector. These medicals must be carried out by doctors who are registered with OEUK to ensure consistency and compliance with industry guidelines. The medical typically takes between 45-60 minutes.
